The EPIC Group attended this year's Dagstuhl seminar on database indexing and query processing in Wadern, Germany from March 13th to 18th. Our colleagues contributed towards all three breakout group topics of the seminar.
They worked on a workload-driven, incremental, automated indexing service, on an algorithm to dynamically avoid poorly chosen join orders using runtime feedback, and on mechanisms for caching and tiering data in deep storage hierarchies. The detailed report on the seminar outcomes will be published on the seminar website.
