"HPI meets..." Google

Wie Google Software baut erfahrt ihr aus erster Hand beim „HPI meets…“ Google am 26.10. hier am HPI.

Christian Schneider von Google München wird zum Thema „Building Software at Google Scale“ sprechen, aus seinem Arbeitsalltag beim Software-Konzern berichten und natürlich nützliche Hinweise zur Bewerbung dort geben.

Inhalt des Vortrags:

The talk will give an overview of the software development experience and philosophy at Google. Given the impressive size of Google's codebase in any dimension (e.g., 2 billion lines of code), Google employees have built a complete suite of tools to support efficient software development for more than 20k engineers working in dozens of offices around the globe. Christian Schneider will highlight some of these tools, describe how the source, build, and test infrastructure is integrated into one cohesive workflow, and how this workflow enables developers to build high-quality software at Google scale.

Christian received his diploma in Computer Science from the Technical University of Darmstadt and joined the chair for IT security at the Technical University of Munich as a PhD student. His research was focused on virtualization technologies for security applications. He received his PhD in 2013 and joined Google in Munich where he is working as a Site Reliability Engineer in the Developer Infrastructure team, delivering a best-in-class developer experience for Google's software engineers.
