HPI meets...

As part of the "HPI meets..." event series, we regularly invite companies to HPI for interesting TechTalks. In a relaxed atmosphere, HPI students and alumni can learn more about the techniques a company uses and what the work of an IT engineer is like.

HPI meets… Taktile

May 4, 2022, 5-6:30 p.m.

Speaker: Dr. Maximilian Eber

A lot of today's world is run on automated decisions, but often teams don't have easy ways to build, run and evaluate how they work. Many decisions rely on guesswork and instinct. Taktile changes that. Taktile was founded in 2020 out of YC and has offices in Berlin, NY and London. Dr. Maximilian Eber is the Co-Founder and CPTO and an expert in automated decisioning and ML. He will talk about how ML helps to bridge the gap between good predictions and good decisions and the technical complexity to display such decision flows in a no-code environment.

HPI meets… Bearing Point

June 1, 2023, 5-6:30 p.m.

Speaker: Rafael Fister

Rafael Fister has a background in physics and works at the Institute for Data and Analytics at BearingPoint. In his talk, he will explain the basics of quantum computing, a topic that has attracted attention in recent years and is making great strides in the development of related hardware and concrete applications. The focus of his talk will be on the current state of quantum computing, the possible areas of application in business and industry, and the development potential of this promising technology. What research is still needed and which applications are already worthwhile? As an interdisciplinary field of technology, software engineers will be especially needed in the future for the development of (hybrid) quantum algorithms. Therefore, this talk will concisely provide the necessary physical basics to take away the participants' fear of quantum physics and to show how especially software engineers can work in this exciting field.
