We strongly suggest that you find a place to live as soon as possible – the exciting cities of Potsdam and Berlin await! We've included some tips here for international scientists studying in Potsdam:
- The IBZ – Internationales Begegnungszentrum offers affordable accommodation for guests of the many different scientific institutes in Potsdam.
- For longer stays, it might be a good idea to rent an apartment/flat. (This Mietspiegel will give you an idea of the average cost of renting an apartment in Potsdam – in Germany only).
- There are also, of course, a number of hotels in all price categories in Potsdam. The Potsdam Tourist Association would be happy to make a reservation for you.

If you would like to rent a room in a student dormitory, you will need to be already registered at the University of Potsdam. Just send the Application for a Dorm Room (Wohnheimantrag) directly to the Studentenwerk Potsdam.
