Lecture series on current database research

In the winter semester 2023/24, HPI will again host the lecture series on database research. In this comprehensive lecture series, renowned researchers from all over Germany will give lectures. The lecture series is organized by HPI professors Tilmann Rabl (Department: Data Engineering Systems) and Felix Naumann (Department: Information Systems).

It is also offered collaboratively at the University of Passau, the TU Dresden, and other universities as a course in parallel. In addition to an overview of the topics in the research area, excellent database research groups from all over Germany will be presented. The lecture topics range from system infrastructure for data-centric machine learning pipelines to data profiling.

The lecture series will begin on October 17, 2023, always on Tuesdays at 5 p.m. The lecture series will be offered in a hybrid format. Presentations will take place both on-site and remotely. In a final session, students from all participating universities can present their A1 posters. Thus, this lecture series will become a national teaching event on current database research. All information about participation is available here.
